1. About Medicina Turkey

Medicina Turkey provides international patient support and healthcare coordination in Turkey. This policy explains how we handle information provided through medicinaturkey.com, treatment inquiries and related communications. Hospitals and healthcare professionals carry out medical assessment and treatment.

For privacy questions, contact sofia@medicinaturkey.com or +90 532 672 7832. Location: Istanbul, Turkey.

2. Information we receive

When you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number, preferred communication method, service interests and message. Information used to coordinate your request may also include appointment preferences and travel timing.

Documents you provide may contain diagnoses, medical history, laboratory results, scans, medication details and allergies. These are sensitive health data. Please send only information relevant to your request; do not send passwords, payment card details or unrelated identity documents.

3. How information reaches us

The Contact page helps you prepare a message for WhatsApp, email or Telegram. Review the message and recipient before sending it through the service you choose. Separate treatment inquiry forms submit requests through the website; the information in these requests is retained by Medicina Turkey for handling the inquiry.

We also receive information through your subsequent messages and documents. You can ask us about a suitable communication channel before sending medical records.

4. Use of information and hospital permission

We use inquiry information to respond to your questions, understand the assistance you request, discuss hospital and specialist options, and coordinate appointments or related arrangements.

Before sending your documents to a hospital, we confirm with you which hospital they will be sent to and ask for your permission to send them so that the hospital can provide information or prepare a proforma invoice.

Your permission concerns the hospital and purpose discussed with you. Reading this policy or making an initial inquiry does not give blanket permission for other uses or transfers. Where processing relies on your consent, you can contact us to withdraw it for future processing. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.

5. Who may receive information

Relevant hospital teams receive the information covered by the permission you give for reviewing your request, providing information or preparing a proforma invoice. A hospital may have its own privacy notice and retention obligations; please review its information when deciding whether to proceed.

Patient coordination may also involve people assisting with translation or practical arrangements. Website hosting and communication providers handle information necessary for their services. Our website uses GoDaddy hosting and offers contact through WhatsApp, Telegram and email.

6. External services and processing abroad

Messaging, hosting, analytics and other external providers may process information outside Turkey under their own service arrangements. Please review the privacy information for the services you choose and contact us if you want details about the handling of a particular inquiry.

Permission to send documents to a named hospital is separate from the requirements governing other disclosures or international transfers. This policy does not treat the choice of a messaging application as permission for every overseas transfer.

7. Cookies, analytics and external content

The website uses Google measurement and advertising tools, Yandex Metrica and Trustpilot resources. These services may receive technical information such as IP address, device and browser details, page visits, online identifiers and interaction events. Yandex Metrica can include session replay. Hosting services can also collect technical information for operating the website.

Cookies and similar technologies can be used by these services. Browser controls let you restrict or delete cookies, although this can affect website functions and does not necessarily prevent every type of technical data collection. Contact us if you need information about a particular service before using the website or submitting information.

Further information is available in the privacy notices of Google, Yandex, WhatsApp, Telegram, GoDaddy and Trustpilot. Optional analytics or advertising choices, where required, are separate from permission to share medical documents.

8. Retention and protection

We retain the patient documents you provide until your treatment is completed.

This retention period concerns the patient documents held by Medicina Turkey. It does not determine a hospital’s separate retention obligations. For information about a particular record, communications, backup copies, an inquiry that does not proceed to treatment, or a deletion request, contact sofia@medicinaturkey.com.

Our website uses HTTPS for its connection. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us before sending extensive medical information if you need guidance.

9. Your rights and requests

Under applicable Turkish data protection law, you may ask whether your data is processed, obtain information about processing and its purposes, ask whether it is used in line with those purposes, and learn about recipients in Turkey or abroad. You may request correction and, where the legal conditions are met, deletion or destruction and notification of relevant changes to recipients. You may object to an adverse result arising solely from automated analysis and seek compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

For privacy questions or help making a request, email sofia@medicinaturkey.com. Describe the request and provide enough information to identify the relevant inquiry without sending unnecessary medical records. Identity verification may be needed before personal information can be disclosed or changed. This contact route does not remove other application methods available under applicable law.

Turkish law provides a route to complain to the Personal Data Protection Board after first applying to the data controller, subject to the applicable conditions and deadlines. Further information about rights and applications is available from the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK).

10. Representatives and updates

If you contact us for another person, explain your relationship and ensure you are authorized to share their information. For a child, identify the parent or legal representative.

We will display changes to this policy on this page with an updated date.
